What is Thermal Break?
Generally 3 operations are required for the assembly:
- 1. the swallow’s tail groves (or cavity) from both the upper and lower extrusions are notched to prevent a lateral shifting during the heat treatment after the painting process and to get a high shear value;
- 2. the aluminium extrusions are assembled with the strips (or strut);
- 3. finally the aluminium teeth, forming the exterior parts of the swallow’s tails, are crimped to lock the strips.
A certain stress must be permanently applied during this final stage to achieve high shear values and as such a strong composite.
